• 2018.36.7: Prince & Princess of Wales planting a tree in Saltaire Park

  Original photograph of the Prince (the future Edward VII) and Princess of Wales planting a tree in Saltaire Park (now Roberts Park) The royal couple have arrived in a carriage (visible in the background) and have walked along a hall rug to a tree to be planted. Prince Edward holds an umberella, and a cigarette, while Princess Alexandra holds the spade. Members of ths Salt family including Titus Salt Junior, his wife Catherine and their children Harold, Lawrence and Isabel stand to the right of the couple. (A3-052 is a different version of this photograph with their fourth child Gordon visible). With 2 copies of the original - 1 full copy and 1 close up of Isabel Salt

  Part of a full Davenport, decorated dinner service purchased by Catherine and Titus Salt Junior. They were probably used for dinner parties, but were definitely used for the Royal Visits in 1882 for the visit of Prince and Princess of Wales.

  Plain glass wine jug, for decanting wine for dinner parties. Decortated with the Salt family crest.
• 2018.51: Tree planting by Princess Beatrice

  A group photograph recording the planting of a tree by Princess Beatrice and her husband Prince Henry of Battenburg when they visited Saltaire to preside at the opening of the new School of Art and Science in 1887. The Princess is at the front centre, with Prince Henry on her right and Titus Salt Junior on her left. Three other dignitaries stand behind them. They are stood partly on grass, partly on a rug next to a tree which has just been planted. The location may be Saltaire Park (now Roberts Park) although the Princess was staying at Milner Field, the home of Titus Salt Junior, so it may have been there.
• 2018.56: Saltaire

  Souvenir booklet for the visit of King George V and Queen Mary on 29 May 1918 to Salts Mill. The Mill had recently been purchased from James Roberts by a group of local businessmen whose photographs are featured in the booklet. It also contains photographs of Salts Mill, and a brief textual history of the mill and Saltaire. There is a plan of the mill site with different areas identified. The booklet contains a brief desciption, photographs of processes in the mill, and a plan of the mill showing the location of various processes. In the centre pages there is an artist's impression of the King and Queen in the Burling and Mending room.
• 2018.57: Cloth from Great Britain

  Promotional brochure for the subsidary companies of Illingworth, Morris Group. There is some brief introductory text. There are individual double-page presentations for each of the companies. One page features samples of cloth produced by the company. The other page is a photograph of a 'typical' scene from the Britain of the time. Salts (Saltaire) Limited is featured on pages 32-33. There is an index of overseas agents at the back of the book. • 2019.9.1: Inventions

  A double-page spread from a newspaper celebrating the Royal Yorkshire Jubilee Exhibition in Saltaire in 1887. Has a drawing of the exhibition site in the centre surrounded by portrait of notable people (all men) associated with the exhibition, and also depictions of alpacas, the Japanese garden from the exhibition.
• 2020.2.8: The Shipley Times & Express Pictorial

  The 'Shipley Times & Express Pictorial' 1937 booklet was produced as a pictorial record of events in Shipley for 1937. It includes a review of the year. The magazine mainly consists of photographs, with text, on the main events of 1937. This includes the visit to Shipley and Saltaire by King Goerge VI and Queen Elizabeth, along with the street parties and school events to celebrate the Coronation. The magazine also includes photographs of various Shipley personalities, wedding groups and the opening of Hall Royd Methodist Church. The magazine also includes a photograph of Joan Kendall of Katherine Street, Saltaire, for completing 7 years of unbroken school attendance.
• 2024.56.6: Little Horton Lane

  Photograph of a large crowd of people completely filling a square on Little Horton Lane in Bradford on 4 May 1904 during a visit by the Prince and Princess of Wales. Bunting is hung at the sides of the streets. One building has a sign 'Appleton & Co.'. People are also visible in windows and on the roofs of buildings.
