Albert Bowtell worked in the accounts department of Salts Mill for 28 years up to its end as a textile mill in 1985. He was very interested in the history of the textiles business and gave illustrated, entertaining talks on the story of Saltaire.
Albert sadly died in 2003 but in 2007 his widow Joyce kindly donated his extensive archive of photographs, original documents, Salts-company objects and newscuttings.
Clive Woods was a local historian, and leading campaigner for the preservation of Saltaire's heritage. He sadly died in 2007, but his large and diverse collection reflects his interests in everything to do with Saltaire.

Items associated with Shipley Glen, a green open space near to Saltaire. From the late nineteenth century it was the site of popular entertainment, including a rollercoaster and toboggan ride. The Tramway ran from the edge of Saltaire up the valley side to the Glen.

Tom Wilkinson was the head of the design office for Salts (Saltaire) Limited, at Salts Mill, from the 1950s.
Tom kindly donated a number of his technical design books to the Saltaire Collection. These included a work-book used to develop new designs.
A collection of items related to Joseph Wright. From very humble beginnings, and with some very elementary education at the Factory School in Saltaire, Wright went on to great academic achievements eventually becoming a Professor of Philology at the University of Oxford.
