2018.3.1: Dinner servicePart of a set of dinner service, they are part of a collection of decorated Davenport dinner plates purchased by Catherine and Titus Salt Junior. They were probably from used for dinner parties, but were definitely used for the Royal Visits in 1882 and 1887 (Princess Beatrice and Prince Henry of Battenburg).

Blue and gold, with the Salt coat of arms motto 'Quid Non Deo Juvante' ('What not by the help of God?') and alpaca image. Hallmarked 'Davenport Longport Staffordshire'. [1870-1886]. 2) Wooden hinged double picture frame. Contains two pencil sketches of a boy and girl [Isabel and Lawrence Salt]. [Late 19th century]. 3) Box. Tin previously containing acorns and accompanying card 10cm wide x 6cm high x 2.5cm deep. Yellow and blue with black lettering: 'The 'Allenburys' Glycerine and Blackcurrant Pastilles. Made from the fresh ripe fruit. Manufactured by Allen & Hanburys Ltd London'. Late 19th or early 20th century. 4) Box. 20cm radius x 8cm deep. Covered in floral fabric.
