Description: John Baker lived at 5 Albert Road, Saltaire and in 1920 moved to Morecambe. He had been a Clerk of Works at the mill and then became Sir James Roberts representative in Saltaire when the mill was sold by Sir James in 1918.

These letters to Sir James date from 1918 to 1922 when pensions from the Salts Mill business were wound up. Baker collected rent for Sir James Roberts, gave out pensions and generally looked out for his interests. The letters cover all of these duties.
