2018.36.7: Prince & Princess of Wales planting a tree in Saltaire Park Original photograph of the Prince (the future Edward VII) and Princess of Wales planting a tree in Saltaire Park (now Roberts Park) The royal couple have arrived in a carriage (visible in the background) and have walked along a hall rug to a tree to be planted. Prince Edward holds an umberella, and a cigarette, while Princess Alexandra holds the spade. Members of ths Salt family including Titus Salt Junior, his wife Catherine and their children Harold, Lawrence and Isabel stand to the right of the couple. (A3-052 is a different version of this photograph with their fourth child Gordon visible). With 2 copies of the original - 1 full copy and 1 close up of Isabel Salt -
2018.37: Dinner service Part of a full Davenport, decorated dinner service purchased by Catherine and Titus Salt Junior. They were probably used for dinner parties, but were definitely used for the Royal Visits in 1882 for the visit of Prince and Princess of Wales. -

It includes a review of the year. The magazine mainly consists of photographs, with text, on the main events of 1937. This includes the visit to Shipley and Saltaire by King Goerge VI and Queen Elizabeth, along with the street parties and school events to celebrate the Coronation. The magazine also includes photographs of various Shipley personalities, wedding groups and the opening of Hall Royd Methodist Church. The magazine also includes a photograph of Joan Kendall of Katherine Street, Saltaire, for completing 7 years of unbroken school attendance. -

The photograph shows the Prince of Wales (the future Edward VII) standing with a cigraette watching his wif Princess Alexandra planting a tree. A group of people on the right includes Titus Salt Junior, his wife Catherine and their children Harold, Lawrence and Isabel. Their fourth child Gordon can be seen at the extreme right but this is a later amendment to the photograph. Gordon was absent at Winchester School when the event occurred and he was later added to the photograph, replacing another person who was originally visible. -
