• 2018.55: Sir Titus Salt Bart. Sons and Co Limited

  Promotional booklet for the Salt company. Booklet is similar to others from the same time but has text in French. Contains photographs of processes in the mill. Has two pages of introductory text.
• 2024.66: Statement and scheme for reconstruction

  Original paper handwritten document relating to the Salt family business. The document sets out the details of the proposed takeover of Salts Mill and Saltaire village by a consortium of four Bradford businessmen: Isaac Smith, John Rhodes, John Maddocks and James Roberts. The document outlines the will of the the late Sir Titus Salt, describes the capital structure of Sir Titus Salt Bart. Sons and Co. Ltd. It also the describes the incorporation of the firm as a limited company and its recent decision to apply for voluntary liquidation. It finally outlines the proposed takeover by the consortium. A detailed intepretation of the document by local historian David King is available in item A1-125. A copy, typewritten version of the same document is available in the Denys Salt Collection as item 2018.36.3
• 2018.9.4: Photographs and postcards

  Assorted photographs (some with explanatory notes), mounted postcards and two postcard albums. Family photographs include Isabel Salt, Lawrence Salt, Titus Salt Junior and Crossley relatives. Green postcard album inside cover reads: 'Switzerland, Feb. 22 to March 28. 1905'. Blue postcard album includes loose postcards addressed to Isabel at 'Denton Park, Ben Rhydding', 1909-1929. With postcard sent to 'Miss Salt, Imperial Nursing Home, Rutland Rd, Harrogate', 1914. Postcards in album include tourist attractions in UK and France. Mounted postcards include series depicting the 'Passionspiele' (Passion Play) at Oberammergau, Germany, 1910.
• 2024.65: Memorandum and suggestions 1883

  Original paper, handwritten document relating to the Salt family business. The memorandum suggests an arrangement for the setting up of a fund out of the income and profits of Sir Titus Salt, Bart. and Sons Co. Ltd. The fund is designed to to pay for various liabilities on the compnay and its directors and also to provide a regular income for the share and debenture holders (largely the Salt family). A detailed intepretation of the document by local historian David King is available in item A1-125.
• 2016.2.8: Bib and Collar

  Cream lace/net bib and collar with armholes and fastenings to nape of neck and lower back. Item made from cream lace netting with a collar detailed with hand stitched silk flowers 2 sets of hooks and eyes and 3 waqvy wire stiffeners. Main body of garment has 2 lace frills in same design as collar. Double layer of netting to the front.

• F1a-173a-b: The Italian Contribution to Shipley Textile Manufacturing. The Ricciardo (Mackin) Sisters' story from 1957

  The story of Italian sisters Dora and Margherita Mackin with refrences to Velia Campbell (all nee Ricciardo). Account of their early lives in Italy and then travelling to Britain in the 1950s to work in the textile industry.

  Assorted garments, shoes and accessories for adults and children. It is believed the children's items were worn by Isabel and her brother Lawrence, c1881. Items 4, 5, 11, 12 and 14 may be clothes worn in the photographs by Albert Sachs (see 2018.9.4). Comprises: 1) Adult jacket; cream colour with red and green brocade and trimming. 2) Straw hat decorated with daisies and ribbon. 3.1, 3.2) [Boy's] jacket, with embroidered flowers and lace. Matching scarf/sash, with embroidered flowers. 4) [Boy's] waistcoat, with flower pattern on front and gold stripes on reverse and lining. 5) [Boy's] trousers, yellow with brass button. 6a, 6b) Girl's skirt and sleeves, cream with lace trim.   A geographical, residential and business directory of Bradford and its suburbs from 1903. Contents are listed as: 1. Bradford topographical 2. Townships added to the city, topographical 3. Official directory The suburbs information includes Shipley (including Shipley), with a description of the Urban District Council, public establishments and schools.
• 2023.2: The life and work of Mohammed Aziz 1929-

  A personal history given by Aziz of his migrating to the United Kingdom to work in the textile industry. Aziz worked at Salts Mill in the 1980s during its last few years before closure. Aziz gave this account of his life to Saltaire Collection volunteer Maggie Smith.
