• H1-012.4: Deal between the British Wool Board and Illingworth Morris (group managing Salts Mill)

  An article discussing the deal between Illingworth Morris who controlled Salts Mill, and the British Wool Marketing Board. The British Wool Board bought 60% of Illingworth Morris and created the second company Woolcombers of which Hanson took leadership. Justification of the deal from the British Wool Board was to strengthen the British wool market.

  Apologies for paying a plumber. Mr Normington has built his workshop. Mr Thomas & Co were to do not more alterations before winter. Mr Stephenson, a farmer, asked to have his door thresholds repaired. The park is in a wretched state. Greenhouses leased to Mr Badland. The sale of park and greenhouses to be done separately.

  Printed magazine of Saltaire related articles with black and white and coloured photographs. The lead article relates to 'The Saltaire Conversazione' from 1878 to 1964 by Roger Clarke. There are also articles on alpaca tasting in Leeds and the finding of the grave of George Salt. There is also a snippet entitled 'Textile machinery captured in photographs' . The photographs have been donated by Albert and Joyce Bowtell

• D1-005: Saltaire an Introduction

  Copy of an item on the Saltaire Club and Institute from Jack Reynolds entitled 'Saltaire an Introduction'. Describes how Titus Salt viewed the Club and Institute as a means of encouraging a sober and industrious workforce by providing them with an alternative to public houses and beer shops.

  Showing the town and works of Saltaire and Saltaire Park. From an original plan by Lockwood and Mawson c.1870. The park was under construction in 1870, but was always part of the Lockwood and Mawsons plan for the Town, so this may be a plan for the future or it may be to show the completed work. The corner site at the west end of Gordon Terrace is not yet developed. This site was bought by Sir Titus in 1874.

• H2-122: Map of the Milner Field estate

  Plan of the Milner Field, Stubbing House and Trench Estates copied by Horsfall and Williams Surveyors, Halifax. Hand-written text in the centre of the map reads 'reduced plan referred to by this deed'. The Milner Field estate has been coloured green with the exception of one lot which has been coloured red. Sir Titus Salt Esquire is listed as the owner of lands adjacent to Trench Estate and Saltaire is shown on the map.

  4 paper prints produced by Ann Stuart as patterns for fabrics created on courses. They include the following : 1. Large green, yellow, red and blue floral painting 2. Large green and blue painting 3. Large green, blue, red, yellow diamond and circular painting with number 327 on the reverse 4. Large black, yellow, red and green diamond painting with circles and triangles
• 2020.2.15: Student notebook

  Probably made at Shipley Technical School - Textile Department by Harold Kendall. The notes handwritten in ink on the first page are in the same handwritting as other Harold Kendall notebooks. First page: 'Woollen and Worsted Spinning Notes . Commernced to write these notes Sept 8th 1914. Completed same'. The notes are on 'wool and hair', softness, fineness and length. principles of spinning, spinning frame, twisting and winding yarn, spinning formulae etc.

  'Alpaca', a Magazine produced by the British Alpaca Society, this is the Winter 1999 edition and includes an article on fibre quality, and updates from around the world, including Australia and the USA.
