2024.99.3: Notes on official letters regarding Iwakura MIssion visit to BritainThree photocopied pages of handwritten notes dated March 3rd 1873 concerning the Iwakura MIssion's visit to Britain. The first page is a translation of 3 pages of a letter signed by B.S Watson Charge' d'Affaires in Japan. Pages 2 and 3 are a translation of a letter signed by Queen Victoria, countersigned by Granville. The letters relate to ambassadors extraordinary and associate ambassadors, including the appointment of Tomomi Iwakura as Ambassador Extraordinary.

The pages detail the arrival of Japanese Ambassadors and Suite of the Iwakura MIssion at Saltaire on 25th October 1872. Also included is a handwritten envelope asking whether Nakki could find anything about this visit from the Japanese side.
