2024.66: Statement and scheme for reconstruction Original paper handwritten document relating to the Salt family business. The document sets out the details of the proposed takeover of Salts Mill and Saltaire village by a consortium of four Bradford businessmen: Isaac Smith, John Rhodes, John Maddocks and James Roberts. The document outlines the will of the the late Sir Titus Salt, describes the capital structure of Sir Titus Salt Bart. Sons and Co. Ltd. It also the describes the incorporation of the firm as a limited company and its recent decision to apply for voluntary liquidation. It finally outlines the proposed takeover by the consortium. A detailed intepretation of the document by local historian David King is available in item A1-125. Ferniehurst, Baildon, West Yorkshire, United KingdomFerniehurst was a grand mansion in Baildon, near Saltaire. It was built as the home of Edward Salt, the third son of Sir Titus, who was a director of Sir Titus Salt Bart. Sons and Company Limited. The house was demolished and is now mainly a recreational area.

Oxenhope, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom Oxenhope is a rural village near to Haworth and Keighley in West Yorkshire. Sir James Roberts was born in Oxenhope. -
Strathallan Castle, Perthshire, United KingdomStrahallan Castle was purchased by Sir James Roberts in 1910. Sir James offered the castle for use during the First World War, and it was used a a Red Cross convalescent hospital. Durng the Second World War it temporarily hosted a Glasgow girls school that had been moved for safety. Today the castle is still home to some of Sir James's descendants.

D2-056: Cycling medal A metal medal awarded by Saltaire Cycling Club to Reuben Jagger for participation in a Saltaire to Morecambe road race. Engraved writing on the reverse states 'Club handicap. Saltaire to Morecambe. May 19th 1894. Reuben Jagger. 3rd Fastest time'. There is a further engraved writing of 'Fattorini & Sons, Bradford' - the makers of the medal. -
