H2-208: Baker Letter 1918-1922 - Photocopies of originalsJohn Baker lived at 5 Albert Road, Saltaire and in 1920 moved to Morecambe. He had been a Clerk of Works at the mill and then became Sir James Roberts representative in Saltaire when the mill was sold. These letters to Sir James Roberts date from 1918 to 1922 when the pensions were wound up. He collected rent for Sir James Roberts, gave out pensions and generally looked out for his interests.

2025.86: Meet me Gwen on Shipley Glen A musical score with lyrics of the song 'Meet me Gwen on Shipley Glen'. Music by Jimmy Sutton and lyrics by Reg Bolton. The song is about two young lovers arranging to meet at a specific rock ('Number 9') on Shipley Glen, a green open space near Saltaire. Reg Bolton was a well lnown writer and perfomer of comedic songs. -

Morrell had worked for 45 years as a teacher and headteacher in various schools in Saltaire and nearby Shipley. -

F1a-310: Cash From the Coal Measures - Mining & Brick-making in Heaton Woods & NorthcliffeAn article from the Bradford Antiquary (published by the Bradford Antiquarian Society) no. 17, 1923. History of the Northcliffe area, near to Saltaire, which had seen much mining activty from the seventeenth century up to the early twentieth century. The area became converted to a public park and playing fields in 1920 enabled by a donation from Sir Norman Rae.

2018.3.24: Cheques bookCheque book with a plain cover numbered 4684/4713 containing unused cheques for The Bradford Bank Company Limited Bradford. There are also 5 loose blank cheques, which all appear to have been taken from this book. The cheques are headed Milner Field with the Salts crest to the left of the check. The book is in the name of Titus Salt Junior. As Titus Salt Junior died in 1887 and this book has never been used by him, its likely that it was issued to him in the 1880's just before he died.

A2-006/1: written quoteCopy of a hand written quote from Wormesley and Co of St James Street, Leeds ' Public Decorators and Bazaar Contractors providers of temporary room and marquees for balls, weddings, royal visits and coming of age festivities'. The quote is made out to Mrs Salt and is dated August 10th 1895. The quote is for fixing and laying a raised oak and walnut parquet floor in the drawing room and library and for the erection of a 60ft by 30ft ballroom with a polished parquet floor lined with amber and cream drapery, to supply seating and to cart goods to and from Bingley station.

2022.70: Bradford Antiquary - 1987 An edition of the journal of the Bradford Antiquarian Society. Contains chapter called 'Crisis at Saltaire'pages 1-10. This is a brief account of a meeting to discuss the future of Salts Mill following its closure as a working textile factory in 1986. Most of the article is a report of an address given by Dr Lindstrum on the important heritage of Sats Mill and Saltaire. -
2022.95: Bradford Antiquary Third Series No.4 1989 The Bradford Antiquary The Journal of the Bradford Historical and Antiquarian Society Third series No.4 1988. Chapter entitled ' Cartwright Hall and the Great Bradford Exhibition of 1904' mentions Titus Salt. Contains mention of Salts Mill Records c.1920s to 1980s. Also mention of Saltaire in the Editorial p.85 on the acquisition of the mill by Jonathan Silver.
