2018.9.6.8: Valentine's Party Games

The Shepherd's Garden.' Cardboard box, slightly damaged, 16cm high x 11cm wide, containing 8 cards. Box and cards with coloured picture of shepherd presenting floral wreath to shepherdess. Inside of card contains riddling poem with missing words. Separate sheet listing answers to riddles. Made by Valentine and Sons, Dundee and London. Also contains two handwritten cards 11cm high x 9cm wide with instructions to games, 'Find Me!' and 'Hide and Seek' with blank paper folded round them. Back of cards contain printed advertisement for 'White Elephant' stall for Oxted and Limpsfield Congregational Church. C1915.

Book compiled by Henry Stone with a Preface entitled 'Towards Spiritual Democracy'. The book is about Religion and its place in modern society and relating it to politics. The Preface discusses the place of religion in life especially in the light of War.

The works of Alfred Lord Tennyson poet Laureate, with the alternative title 'Tennyson's Poetical Works' on the front cover. This is an anthology of Tennyson's poems. The pages are printed in two columns. Flyleaf signed ‘Mary Isabel Salt’.

Ceremonial Mallet, presented to Titus Salt Junior on the occasion of his laying the foundation stone at Airedale College Manningham, on 16th October 1874.

Silver Trowel presented to Mrs Catherine Salt (wife of Titus Salt junior) after the laying a ceremonial stone for the extension of Sir Titus Salts Hospital in 1925.
