Govinder was well known for his depiction of cats and dogs and other mammals, often depicted in a Rothkoesque style. There are many examples in the book. -

Deals with their appearance (with many illustrations), and their lifecycles. Gives advice on preventing and dealing with infestations. The author Lura Hunter (nee Thorpe) was born in 1897 and brought up in Baildon, near Saltaire. She attended Salt Girls High School and went on to study for a B.Sc. at the University of Liverpool. The Club is situated on the edge of the village near to the RIver Aire. The land was purchased in 1922 by the owners of Salts Mill to provide recreational facilities for employees.
