  Five handwritten notes (in Japanese with English tranlsation) on arrival of Hirofumi Ito and others in Bradford, Saltaire, Halifax Bolton Abbey and Sheffield in October 1872. The visit was part of the global Iwakura Mission.

  Three photocopied pages of handwritten notes dated March 3rd 1873 concerning the Iwakura MIssion's visit to Britain. The first page is a translation of 3 pages of a letter signed by B.S Watson Charge' d'Affaires in Japan. Pages 2 and 3 are a translation of a letter signed by Queen Victoria, countersigned by Granville. The letters relate to ambassadors extraordinary and associate ambassadors, including the appointment of Tomomi Iwakura as Ambassador Extraordinary.

  Nine handwritten blue/green pages in Japanese together with two photocopied pages of translation relating to the Iwakura Mission's travel around the world between 1871 and 1873. Includes visits to Bradford, Saltaire, Halifax and Sheffield. The document is probably a summary of the original documents made by a Japanese speaker.
• 2024.99.6: Arrival of Iwakura MIssion at Saltaire

  A photocopy of pages 79 and 80 from 'Saltaire and its founder, Sir Titus Salt, Bart' by Abraham Holroyd published 1873. The pages detail the arrival of Japanese Ambassadors and Suite of the Iwakura MIssion at Saltaire on 25th October 1872. Also included is a handwritten envelope asking whether Nakki could find anything about this visit from the Japanese side.
