H1-012.4: Deal between the British Wool Board and Illingworth Morris (group managing Salts Mill)

An article discussing the deal between Illingworth Morris who controlled Salts Mill, and the British Wool Marketing Board. The British Wool Board bought 60% of Illingworth Morris and created the second company Woolcombers of which Hanson took leadership. Justification of the deal from the British Wool Board was to strengthen the British wool market.

D2-056: Cycling medal

A metal medal awarded by Saltaire Cycling Club to Reuben Jagger for participation in a Saltaire to Morecambe road race. Engraved writing on the reverse states 'Club handicap. Saltaire to Morecambe. May 19th 1894. Reuben Jagger. 3rd Fastest time'. There is a further engraved writing of 'Fattorini & Sons, Bradford' - the makers of the medal.

A small metal can originally holding oil for cycle lamps. The can is in a poor, rusty state. It was found in the Salt Building, the site of the Salt High School.

A history of Sir Titus Salt and Saltaire by W.E. Alderson. Contains a large number of historical black and white photographs and more modern colour photographs. It was riginally a compilation of facts and photographs by the author and was not intended for public ation. It was published in memoriam after the author's unexpected death.
